After a long period of inactivity, I’m about ready to start running again. I had a nasty case of Retrocalcaneal Bursitis” and have been off the roads entirely for almost two months!! I’m hoping to start out slowly and probably begin the Beginning runners handbook’s 13 week course again. While I’ll still be fit enough to run at my previous pace, I don’t want to injure myself again.
In case you’re wondering, the injury hurt like hell, but its saving grace was it’s random periods of painfree walking. If you ever bash your heel and it feels a little funny, I’d get it checked out. The only reason I was sidelined for so long was the fact that I kept running on it for a few weeks, with each trip out just making it worse.
