Today I changed my normal running route. Instead of running down Mt Victoria to the waterfront, and then along the shore to kilbirnie, I ran straight up Mt Vic to the summit and then from there along Alexandra road to Newtown.
The initial Hill Climb was extremely tough, my lungs and legs were shot by the time I got to the top, but with my heart rate lifted, the descent (very gradual) was rewarding and refreshing. By the end of this mornings run I felt a weird combination of refreshed and exhausted.
I think I’ll include a few more hill climbs in my training, though I don’t want to over do it. Maybe three climbs a fortnight.
