Cleaning up blog cruft

I’ve been reconfiguring my local MovableType installation to be a little cleaner. The main changes are:

  • I’m using Brad Choate’s MT-Textile This makes it much easier to enter valid XHTML.
  • the archive URLs are all mpt-approved I’ve always hated the defaults, hearing a fellow kiwi give a reason not to use them was excuse enough.

My next few goals are:

While MovableType’s default settings may leave a little to be desired, I heard on A list apart that TypePad will be fully standards conforming by default. Of course the configurability of MovableType allows you to make it do, almost anything.

Hopefully none of these will be too difficult. As with the whole blog thing, there’s really no reason for this. I’m doing it because I can.

Another happy customer! Glad to hear it.

Although, I think you’re missing a closing </div> ... do a HTML validation check at the w3.org to see what I mean.
