FYR 0.8

Feed Your Reader 0.8 is out now.

I’ve just released Feed Your Reader 0.8. There were a few more internal code reorganisations in this release. But the primary new feature is the addition of ‘subscribe to this link’ to the browser context menu.

Now you can subscribe to a site which has a syndication feed, but doesn’t support autodiscovery.

Update. 0.8.1 is out now too. Adding support for Firefox 1.0 and a fixed spanish translation. Look to 0.8.2 in the next few days.

By the way, you can add Sharpreader to your list of supported aggregators. Just tested it out and it works perfectly. Thanks for the great extension!

Sounds like a great tool – how do we get it to support NewzCrawler? Is there something the NC developer needs to implement?

Hey Koz. Now that I’m working for NewsGator, I thought it might be appropriate to ask you to add support for their web-based subscription method to FYR.

Poking around in the externalfeed.jar file I found the settings in options.xul. I added a line with the label: “NewsGator Online” and the URL: “http://www.newsgator.com/ngs/subscriber/subext.aspx?url=URL

It seems to work just fine. Any chance you can add this to the official build?

Thanks!

Jack
