MQ & Websphere, how marketers ruined my day.

Marketers should consider the effects of their ‘branding’ on good search results

For some reason IBM renamed their stellar and widely deployed MQSeries to Websphere MQ. Obviously some marketer’s effort to ‘brand’ their ‘solutions’ more effectively. However this has had the presumably unforseen consequence of hiding a lot of useful internet resources relating to WAS and Websphere MQ.

My old search of Websphere mq is now useless. Websphere MQ and Websphere Application Server returns a few redbooks, but none of the useful techno-chatter that something like Jboss postgresql gives me.

I’m sure google will sort itself out eventually, but to all you marketers. Please think of the poor googlers who are searching for information on your product. Pretty please?...
