Ruby Conf 2005
Ruby Conf was fantastic. It was great to meet up with the rest of the rails core team, and finally get a 1.0 release candidate out the door. Meeting lots of other people from the rails community was a blast too.
All the presentations were great, but a few really stuck out:
- Nathaniel Talbott’s presentation on the new business models / markets which are being made possible with rails.
- Koichi Sasada’s presentation on YARV
- Akira Tanaka’s presentation on API design
All the presentations will eventually be online thanks to Zen Spider’s rubyconf 2005 page. If you’re thinking about going next year, I’d strongly recommend it.
Now, perhaps it’s time for Rails Conf? Ideally 6 months from now, somewhere in the northeast of the US where I’ve never been before.
