Google's Autolink

If, like me, you are unable to use the Google Toolbar you can see a few screenshots of it in action at MarkTaw.com. After viewing them, I really don’t see what the big deal is. I can’t understand why DaveW, Dan Gilmor and many others are up in arms over this.

For me it’s pretty simple:

  1. It’s none of your business what I do with your content in my browser.
  2. The user has to press a button to turn it on, so there’s no mistaking those links for official ones.

Google even lets you reconfigure which sites the auto links go to . If google (or anyone else) makes a firefox extension that does this, I’ll download it straight away, and if you try to stop me using it, I have a solution
