My migration to mephisto gave me a great opportunity to rethink the features on this site. In true ‘Less Software’ style, I’m removing features.
Categories
I never really liked categories, they don’t match my way of thinking when I’m writing here, so when I imported my Wordpress posts, I completely discarded the category data. Trying to shoe horn a post to a category was too much work and frequently I’d just tick ‘General’ and publish. I’ll try to use Mephisto’s tags, but perhaps I’ll tire of that too.
Feeds
Wordpress offers dozens of feeds to the user, for each category, for each item, and naturally, in whatever format you’d want. While that may be appealing to a tiny number of users (0.2% according to my access logs), migrating all those feeds was far too much work. So this site now has one feed. Hopefully those of you previously reading a category or entry feed stick around for the full show ;).

Since buying Pukka I’ve been putting a lot of links into my del.icio.us account, I’ve made that content more accessible by putting it in a sidebar here, and splicing it into the site’s main feed.
